経営危機に陥っている大手菓子メーカー「不二家」（本社・東京）の洋菓子工場
で、商品を自主回収する社内基準が、国の衛生基準より１０倍も緩い「１グラム
あたりの細菌数が１００万個超」と設定されていたことがわかった。
同社ではこれまで社内基準について、「１グラム当たり１０万個超の場合は出荷を停止し、商品を回収」と説明していた。厚生労働省などは、「１０倍というのは通常では考えられない」と驚いており、同社のお粗末ぶりがまた露天した。不二家によると、札幌や埼玉など五つの洋菓子工場の食品衛生マニュアルでは、
細菌が製品１グラム当たり１０万個を超えた場合、「工場長に報告し、対応を検
討する」と規定。「回収を要する」のは１００万個を超えた場合としており、こ
れまでの「１０万個超」という説明とは食い違っていた。
